Monthly Archive: May 2009

Speaking of time…

I am not quite sure where exactly the month of May went, but I am absolutely floored today is in fact May 30th and Monday will already be the month of June. In just 10 short days I will get Collin in the morning and tell him “Happy 10 months Baby Boy” and that just makes my stomach twist a little. 10 months?! That is TOO CLOSE to one year.

Where has all the time gone?!

I just realized last night that I have been keeping up with this blog for over a year now! I was amazed as I went back through the posts and all of the things I wrote about came back through my mind. I’m so excited I made it this far and I was able to document the things I did and went through.

You can read the original post here, but I wanted to mention that one year ago today I made an entry about camping last Memorial Day weekend! And what a weekend it was! I was 28 weeks pregnant and we went on our annual (well… not this year, I guess.) Memorial Day trip up north. I was so proud of myself for going and having a great time and not letting my pregnancy hold me back from doing the things I normally would do. It was also the weekend before we started moving office furniture downstairs and transforming the baby’s room into the nursery! How cool.

I can’t wait to have more time tonight so I can go back and read through more posts from a year ago. SO MUCH has changed since then, its really incredible. And I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.

Some GREAT news.

Today Brian, Collin, and I had to go down to Lexington to the Children’s Hospital office there for an appointment to check out Collin’s kidneys. I wasn’t sure how to feel going into this appointment but it turns out that I had nothing to worry about.

I need to discuss quickly just how GOOD this child is. We had an ultrasound, where he let us strip him down to a diaper and laid on the table and let the tech put that goop on him and get all the pictures she needed. He turned onto his belly while she scanned his kidneys from the back. He let us get him dressed again and sat around the office for 45 minutes while we waited for the appointment with the doctor. All without a peep. Not a cry, whine, or fuss. He sat in our laps, he stood by our chairs, he had a snack, played with his trucks, just people watched. He slept on the way there and on the way home. He is really such an angel.

When we met with the doctor we could not have heard better results. Collin’s left kidney still had some fluid but it was less than last time and the kidney itself is growing just fine, so we are in the clear! He now has a clean bill of health unless he happens to develop a UTI, which we would need to be really cautious about. I am so proud of him, and so happy with these results, that I get teary eyed just thinking about it. He was so great today that I cannot get over it. :-)
