Bye-Bye!

Collin is sort-of waving now. Not so much actually waving, but if he sees someone leaving and they say bye-bye he sticks his arm out high in the air. Its so damn cute. I am really impressed with that, I didn’t realize that was something he could learn so early.

C is at the point now where he just wants to play all the time and its so much fun. He doesn’t want to just sit around being held or in his exersaucer or jumparoo, he wants to be on the floor digging around in his bucket of blocks, or playing with one light and sounds toy after another. He does this back arch, push off, stiff body thing when he wants to get down and I take it as an immediate signal that he’s bored. Its great that he’s able to communicate with us that way and even more great that we can sit him on the floor with an assortment of things and he’s happy as a clam.

He’s no closer to crawling today than he was last time I posted, or even the time before that. Its funny to me because he wants to move, move, move, but once he’s on the floor on his belly he just laughs for a few minutes, wriggles around a little bit, then just gets frustrated. He wants the instant gratification of getting from point a to point b, but doesn’t want to do the work. I think its because he’s smart enough to know someone will just do the work for him! Oh well, he’ll figure it out soon enough.

We had quite the week this week. Collin has been great, though, as usual. This has been the first week probably since before Christmas that he went to daycare all 5 days. I am so happy for this, because 1. we pay for it, and 2. he loves it there and it keeps him on a routine. I am excited for that and hope it continues.

I have the cutest video I really want to post, but we don’t have the right cord to get the video from the video camera to the computer, so it has to wait. I am dying to share, though. We’ve got to get on that.

Sunday.

So here we are…. the end of vacation. Collin went to daycare a few days this week so I could get a whole bunch of stuff done and that was accomplished. He also stayed home a couple of days and we played and had a good time together. Thursday we were able to visit Nana on her lunch time, which was fun. That was also her anniversary!

Yesterday we went out and did a whole bunch of errands. We ended up going to lunch at Bugaboo and it was the first time we went out to a restaurant with Collin while he wasn’t asleep in his bucket seat. He was SO GOOD, I could not have been happier with how it went. He had his lunch there too, and overall it was just a huge success. I am so happy we are able to go out and about and do things. He napped on the go, behaved and was not fussy at all. I think he enjoys going to new places and seeing all the different things out there. It was such a great day.

This week is very low-key, which I am excited for. Back to the grind tomorrow, but I get to come right home and play with the little man. Hooray! I can’t believe how close we are to March. Hooray again – I can’t wait for Spring!

Another doctor visit…

This one was a good one, though. They knew us by name today, since we’d been there about 3 times in the previous two weeks. Today was Collin’s six month well-baby appointment and I am happy to FINALLY be able to say he really is “well.” We have gotten over that nasty bug and Collin is just about back to his old self. He’s not quite eating as much as he was, but I’ll take that.

Today’s appointment went great. He’s hitting milestones without a problem, he’s healthy, and happy. The doctor was pleased and he got his immunizations (by far the worst part of the appointment!). Today’s stats are no surprise: weight – 22.64lbs length – 29″ and his head was somewhere around 18 inches. All of those numbers are in the 98th percentile. I’m glad his head has caught up and I’m also extremely happy he is so proportional.

We came home from his appointment and Collin napped while I ate lunch then we played with his mega blocks. I have a feeling it isn’t going to be very long at all before he is crawling, he wanted to be EVERYWHERE.

We are so blessed with this little boy.
